Shop the Renata Collection

Collection of Renata Cicioni of Buenos Aires, Argentina--prominent social figure and philanthropist; owner of an expansive estancia in the outskirts of Buenos Aires; widow of the late Niall MacManus, Irish landowner and horsebreeder; and former wife of Count Orsi of Italy. Exquisite items worn usually once to diplomatic invitations or with national dignitaries, including an Argentine president and the U.S. ambassador; ribbon-cuttings at charitable events; or to the Colon Theater where she retains a private box to this day. Most items recall her Italian heritage, and many are either handmade by her personal seamstress or by the reknowned Italo-Argentine designer, Gino Bogani.

Timelessly elegant, these are the fashions of a woman who came of age during World War II and has commandiered the social circuit of the "Paris of South America" from it's Golden Age, through the more tarnished eras of Peronism and Military rule, and into today's Democracy.

You are what you wear, VV's observations of the woman in the clothes:

Renata, a woman who knows herself, is comfortable in her own skin free to practice the art of self-expression. A woman who doesn't fear color but applauds it, doesn't shy from bold designs & fabric prints, but celebrates these artistic achievements adopting them as her own stylistic pleasures. A strong woman, intelligent, a free spirit who dresses for the moment relishing in her own style, comfortable with herself, in control of who she is and what she wants, revealing and sharing much about herself, a window, but not all, not because she avoids vulnerability, just wait. One's place in society is earned. Only a woman of confidence and stature could pull this off.
