Bubblegum Pink Silk Tailored Dress
You’re out there, no fading into the woodwork in this shirtwaist dress of hot and vibrant pinks, green and lilac. This is a real beauty made with silk and detailed to the nines. The silk is so light it will whisper over you like a gentle breeze. With two hook and eye closures at the back of the neck and inset with nylon lining, the collar has a bit of lift to it. The bodice is pleated and blousy, and has 3/4 length dolman style sleeves that are applied with wide pointed cuffs. A covered button with thread loop closure is fashioned just at the collar creating a placket bodice when closed or, if worn open, a double notched collar. Silk covered buttons adorn the front and cuffs and the full skirt is pleated all the way around. There is a 24" zipper that runs down the back of the dress. The perfect dress to brighten your day and your mood.
Here I go again, but I saw a dress in this same fabric, different design, but the same fabric on one of the back-ground dancers in the movie, Hairspray. You have to be alert because the actors move around the set in record speed in their dance numbers, you just catch glimpses of it, but I knows one when I sees one' and this was definitely there (again, the fabric in a different design). What a blast to see this stuff on the big screen! How does she do it? Always on the hunt.
Condition: The condition is excellent. There are belt loops to suggest that there once was a matching belt, which is now missing. A simple ribbon at the waist will do.
Measurements: Bust 40”, Waist 261/2” snug, Length 44 ” from neck to hem, Bodice length is 17” from nap of neck to waist. Ample room in the bust with a slim waistline, you lucky girl.
